Testimonials

My experience with the Scottish Heritage Wingshooting group has been wonderful. Tony Tomkinson does a great job insuring everyone has a memorable experience and Andrea and John Young do everything necessary to make the logistics work flawlessly. I have been participating every November since 2007 and expect to do so for many years to come. The staff at Culloden House are now old friends that make me feel like I’m coming home rather than checking in to a hotel. The venues are unique and very special. The hosts, the beaters, the pickers-up, and especially the dogs make every shoot a memorable event that I look forward to all year long .

“Our time with you in your lovely country could not have been more enjoyable, the trip was planned and executed flawlessly! I have been raving about the shooting, the scenery, the fellowship and the hospitality to anyone who will listen. Scotland really is a special place... I had always heard that and have now experienced it first hand... thanks to you!”
Stewart W. McDowell, North Carolina. USA.

“What a great time we had on the wing-shooting trip, you could not have been better hosts. Thanks again for your hospitality and tireless effort in making it a terrific week... it was a total experience... and one we cant stop talking about.”
Bill Nanny, North Carolina. USA.

“The shooting was challenging and great fun, the accommodation was elegant and comfortable and the food was delicious. Tony and Andrea made sure we were provided with ample opportunity to enjoy the local culture and sample excellent scotch. This is truly a trip to share with someone special.
Chris Kinsey, Shrieveport. USA.

The whole drill is very much to my liking. Of course, the comradery with all is a big key. The people have no axes to grind. They're just interesting and diverse people meeting up and enjoying each other. The bagpipers do set the tone.
The shoots themselves, for me, are always fun....whether or not I happen to be "on" that day or not. Doesn't matter. The dogs picking up the birds with the picker uppers is the best part of it all. Much more rewarding than counting up the number of birds shot. Drinks before dinner is fun, as is dinner, what with the conversations that inevitably come up. A private dining room helps a lot. Finally, the "drinks after" by the fire finish up the day so nicely. Then we do it all again!
Scotland's rugged beauty holds a very special place for me in my heart of hearts. It's extremely intoxicating to "be out in it." and the views are spectacular, rain or shine. There is no other place like it in the world....and it's all ours for a week!
John R, Pflug, Crozet, Virginia, USA.

“Andrea, our trip to Scotland could not have been topped! The itinerary, the countryside, the people, but especially your knowledge and friendship were the best. Thank you for all that you did for this wonderful experience.
Dave & Yvonne Jarrett, Montana. USA.

“Tony, thanks for such a great trip. We both just loved it. You and Andrea did such a great job of planning everything. We loved the bird shooting...Culloden House... the shopping... and we loved Andrea, John and Emma as well as all the new friends we had such fun getting to know.”
Ellie Nolan, Montana. USA.

“Tony and Andrea. Thank you for a complete Highland experience. The driven bird shoots greatly surpassed all expectations together with Culloden House, shopping and sightseeing.”
Patrick Nolan, Montana. USA.

“Tomkinson Scottish Heritage Wing-shooting combined the finest things... elegance and ancient history. A wing-shooter’s heaven on earth...birds...birds...birds. A great experience.”

“My shooting trip with Tomkinson Scottish Heritage Wing-shooting in Scotland was fabulous. As a non shooter I enjoyed the opportunity to be a part of the shooting experience which is a great trip for both shooters and the ladies.
