FOLKLORE, FIDDLES, PIPER AND POLKA
A true Scotsman and historian Ray Owens displays and explains the meaning and reasons behind the “Kilt” and other parts of the Scottish Dress. This can be combined with folklore stories of local history.
Local Fiddlers famous for playing traditional tunes and contemporary pieces as well as enlightening us about the difference in violin and fiddle playing.
A Traditional Scottish Piper will pipe us in to evening dinner,
and demonstrate a tune.
Scotkilt owner and local kiltmaker Gary Smyth will give a demonstration of the various methods of designing and choosing the right kilt outfit together with a brief history of Highland dress and tartans.
