MacNab

What is a MacNab?

A ''Macnab'' is namely to stalk a Red Deer, shoot a brace of Grouse and catch a Salmon all within one day. It is derived from the famous novel by John Buchan under the title ''John Macnab''.

This ultimate sporting challenge is offered from 12th August to 15th October. The day usually begins at dawn with an experienced Ghillie to catch a SALMON on the river, followed by stalking a RED DEER STAG and finally shooting a brace of GROUSE all within one day under the guidance and advice of experienced Stalker and Gamekeepers.

Tomkinson Scottish Heritage Wing-shooting would be happy to assist with anyone wishing to attempt the challenge.
